PELVIC FLOOR THERAPY

Pelvic floor physical therapy is a growing niche in the physical therapy world. The pelvic floor muscles can be the ROOT cause for orthopedic dysfunctions, which is usually overlooked. We treat chronic sacro-iliac joint dysfunction, chronic low back pain, hip pain, groin pain, and much more.

True pelvic dysfunctions include pelvic organ prolapse (POP), constipation, incontinence (bowel/bladder), post-urine dribble, pelvic pain (dyspareunia, vaginismus, vulvodynia), symptoms related to endometriosis and menstrual cycle deficits/pain.

HEALTH COACHING

Offered by Dr. Amanda- Trained with the Integrative Women’s Health Institute, the goal of health coaching is to support busy women with nutrition and wellness counseling.

Specialties include hormonal health, such as painful periods, PCOS, heavy/irregular periods, amenorrhea and thyroid imbalances, post birth control, pre/postnatal and preparing for pregnancy. We also help women transition through perimenopause and menopause.

DRY NEEDLING

Dry needling is a procedure that treats pain. I use very fine needles and insert them into target locations on the body called trigger points. The procedure name includes the word “dry” to separate it from other kinds of treatments that use needles to inject fluids.

Dry needling focuses on treating pain directly at the affected muscle tissue. Unlike acupuncture, which can be a stand-alone treatment, dry needling is usually performed in conjunction with other treatments like physical therapy or chiropractic.

“After 3 c-sections, and what I thought was a bad prolapse, I thought everything was falling out. I learned I was in the open birth position, had a slight prolapse (which I thought was all of my symptoms) AND had a tight pelvic floor. I finally looked up pelvic floor therapy!! LIFE CHANGING!! With the team at RPT, I am now symptom free and back to working out without fear of symptoms!”
